The article, which was posted on Thursday and deleted Friday, claimed that the Senate Intelligence Committee was investigating a $10 million Russian investment fund whose chief met with a member of Donald Trump’s transition team after he was elected but before he was sworn in.
BuzzFeed reported that an email went out late Saturday morning from CNNMoney executive editor Rich Barbieri, saying, “No one should publish any content involving Russia without coming to me and Jason [a CNN vice president]. This applied to social, video, editorial, and MoneyStream. No exceptions. I will lay out a workflow Monday.”
CNN didn’t immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment.

CNN deleted the story and issued the following retraction:
Scaramucci responded, tweeting, “.@CNN did the right thing. Classy move. Apology accepted. Everyone makes mistakes. Moving on.”
